Philip Lay is a senior advisor with Chasm Group and has been a key member of the Chasm ecosystem since 1994. He currently serves as lead director on the board of Covisint, which provides a secure platform for major corporations to engage with their customers, partners, and suppliers. GM’s Onstar program is powered by Covisint. Philip is visiting professor at IESE business school in Barcelona, Spain where he teaches high-technology marketing strategy to MBA students. He is an experienced keynote speaker and panel moderator, and his blogs are widely read (www.chasmgroup.com and at www.philiplay.com).
Philip works with CEOs and management teams to help them define and execute breakout growth initiatives, many resulting in 3x-5x or greater increases in market capitalization. Philip builds long-term relationships with clients. He has worked on multiple projects for Autodesk, Compuware, HP, NetApp, Rackspace, Salesforce.com and SAP, in addition to leading successful strategy projects with mid-sized companies and startups.
Before Chasm Group
Previously, Philip was co-founder and CEO of TGR Software, a security software company. He began his career as an account manager with IBM UK in London, England.
Philip graduated Reading University in the UK with honors in French and History of Fine Arts, and also holds a degree from l’Universite d’Aix-Marseille, in southern France. He is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
